CREATION BIG CAMP PROGRAM
Children are exposed to evolutionary ideas from a very young age, through TV. day-care, books and even clothing labels. Rejecting Biblical creation is often the first step in rejection of Christianity. This is a seven day program to show what God made on each day and also explain why the world doesn't look like that any more.

This program aims to teach that:

God created a perfect world in one week: six days and rested on the seventh
Satan has spoiled God's world - it is not perfect any more
Following God's way is best
Until recently, and in Bible times, Sunday was considered the first day of the week

We do this by:

Each day emphasise, "Today is ________, today God said, "Let there be..."
Revise all the previous days
Have the walls decorated with the days of creation
Learn the days of creation through songs

A big thank you must go to all the people in Far North Queensland who contributed to this program and made it possible.

The program is split into five possible sections:

Creation Story: Decorate one section in the room, either a felt board or giant poster by adding what God created on each day. (5-7min)
Puppets: Puppets read the relevant Bible verses from the Bible and briefly discuss what they say compared to what they might have heard elsewhere, this addressing some questions of evolution. Approx 7min Download Puppet Talks
Bible Story 2: The story of sin and salvation explains why the world is not perfect now and what God is doing about it. (5min)

Room Decorations:

The colourful banners were made using house paint on bed sheet material; some of them have felt or cardboard pictures attached with sticky-backed velcro; the banner for Day 4 has christmas light stars poked through and beach ball planets hung in front. Balloon trees hide the poles in the middle of the room. Walking-pet balloons and cardboard grass looked good with the Day 6 banner - the sections of grass have slots cut at each end so they can be fitted together in a zig-zag line or taken apart for easy storage.

Estimated Costs of Program:

We were very blessed and mannaged to get many of our supplies on sale and others donated - Thankyou God!
Without sales I expected: Approx $17 per child for crafts, up to $35 if buying brushes, paint, pencils, scissors etc. Approx $225 for room decorations; could be as much as $550 if also buying sheeting, paint, beach ball planets and felt for board etc.

Day 7 Sabbath	Gifts to tell other people about Jesus (The older children decorated some of the left over bags with sequins and an adult wrote "God Made You Special" on them. The younger children made a card to go in them. Tips and Suggestions:

Pre pack everything needed for each day into one or two boxes and label with the day it is needed
When working with young children have as much pre-preparation done as possible before hand: eg. things cutout, strings cut to length, birds pre-assembled, knots tied...
Use white-board markers to colour code the sections for the day onto a clock - everyone can see at a glance how much time they have, who is next and if you are behind schedule.
Delegate different sections to different people, if possible choose people who have a talent, hobby or interest in that area.
